Update: Photos For Memorial Service

We want to remember the family with photos at the memorial service.  The point of contact for this is Lucia Orlando, luciaorlando at yahoo dot com.  Her cell is 831 251- 4210. Contact her to send photos via dropbox or sendspace.com (sendspace doesn’t require an account – quick/easy).  Need by tomorrow, Thursday, at noon to make it into the memorial.  If the photo is a gem, we may want high resolution for an enlargement.  Feel free to copy me at john at johnhoughton.com as I’m posting photos to this blog as well.

With love,

John

    John,
Words cannot really express what I am feeling right now, this type of loss is immeasurable. I was a scuba student and often went into the shop to fill air tanks with my former boyfriend for Vessel Assist. Dave and Dee Dee and the instructors opened my world to the life under our beautiful oceans. My grandson played with the boys when they were in the shop. Beautiful people who had such a zest for Life. Always together as a family unit exploring all the possibilities of this world and remaining that way forever. When I sat by the ocean and was thinking of them….this is what came to mind.

Dear Dave, Dee Dee, Luke and Ryan,

As the beach sand sparkles like diamonds….
And when the mountains dazzle with the first fallen snow….
When I see dolphins frolicking in the surf or catching a wave behind a dive boat….
I will think of all of you….
Forever inspiring, leading adventures near and far….
Capturing each moment with a smile and wave….
Running one last time down the beach….
Stopped by four sea turtles at the ocean’s edge….
    Pausing together ….
    Then each grabbing on….
    For one last taxi ride….
Forever together into the beautiful blue sea…

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. You are held close to my heart. Please let me know if there is anything I can be of help with….

It means so much, to so many!!
All of our lives have been touched and uplifted by David and DeDe,
and our lives will never be the same without them.
    We miss them so much.
May we all find comfort in the wonderful memories we have with them.
They will be forever in our hearts!
Love and Peace to you all,

Dawn….that is a beautiful poem/thoughts that you wrote, how I can picture them like that on the beach.

John, I did send you a few pictures of Dave, but am not sure you would be able to use them since I had to scan them (taken before owning a digital camera).

Thank you for the information as to how to help with the service and to donate to a wonderful organization as the Handicap Scuba Association…I do appreciate that so much since I won’t be able to be there on Saturday.

Please give your family all my thanks for sharing with everyone in honoring David/Dede/Ryan/Luke’s memories.

I feel so blessed to have had David in my life for the years that I did….he will always be in my heart every time I look at the ocean (which is every day here in TX…).

    Sincerely,
    Connie

The love just poured out of this family to everyone who surrounded them. Thank you for creating this blog. We just found out this sunday, after the service. This is a wonderful place to commemorate the magic that we all felt when spending time with each of them. John, the photo of you and David feeding ducks sticks with me through the day, what a beautiful photo, it makes me realize how we are all born just the way we are meant to be. How lucky David and Dede were to have met and create such an extraordinary life together. Its only right that all 4 are moving on together to the next great adventure! We can only imagine the shenanigans… The magic they shared is now accessible to us all when we just think of them. We were so blessed to have them in our life.
