We’re pleased to inform you that Aqua Safaris SCUBA Center will be open on starting this Monday, August 15th. First two days have limited hours, but then we’re back in full swing. We will also have a grand opening event on Saturday, August 20th, time TBA.
Here are the hours:
Monday 8/15: Noon – 4pm
Tuesday 8/16: Noon – 4pm
Daily Thereafter: 10am – 7pm
We’re open for full service, classes, tanks filled, repairs and retail center is open and well stocked. We’re also going to be updating the website. Old website for now: http://www.aquasafaris.com Hope to see you in there!
That’s really great news. I think DeDe and David would be thrilled that this huge creation of theirs will go on.
Through Aqua Safaris they gave so much meaning to the lives of so many people and was such a huge asset to our local community… it wasn’t just that they created amazing trips, or that they exposed people to new cultures and experiences… they of course did, but most people who went on a trip with some or all of the family for the first time would come back changed… eyes wider, minds bigger, hearts happier, souls opened.
The shop itself is/was a home away from home for many and a connection to adventure and a portal to a world outside the mundane. May this continuation of their dream and of new dreams flourish! It will be undoubtedly different… and that may be a challenge initially as people may imagine everything will be the same… but of course it was always changing anyway!

congrats – how wonderful! a beautiful legacy that you and cathryn are offering. i hope that it’s a healing venture for everyone involved. so generous of your energy to make it happen and it’s hopefully been a positive way of processing the loss.
