Aqua Safaris Draws Crowd

As I sit here in David and DeDe’s shop I think through all of the wonderful memories that they made with the dive community while doing what they loved.  To keep that going is our goal in re-opening today.  We had a lot of friends and scuba fans come out to commemorate the re-opening today, plus we had two news crews stop by KION and KSBWLook for coverage at 6pm.  I learned today that Aqua Safaris is a big hub for divers who need to fill their tanks with Nitrox (up to 100%).  This is something you can get from any shop in a 40 mile radius.

It was great seeing all of the family friends come in.  Vickie of Las Tres Amigas stopped by along with Chet (in the picture to the left).  Vickie, Patti, and Sue, became Las Tres Amigas (the three friends) on a recent trip to Wakatobi and have since gone on Aqua Safaris trips to Fiji, Egypt, and Baja.  “I wouldn’t know all the people that I know now if it wasn’t for the Houghton family.”  There are hundreds of others who met this way and the dive shop was their hub.  Please provide your support by purchasing your gear and taking your classes through the dive shop.  Thank you.

One Response to Aqua Safaris Draws Crowd

The reopening of Aquasafaris on Saturday was a sad and yet joyful day for me. I was so happy that I could be there and share this moment. It was wonderful just mingling around and talking with friends and (strangers) “friends just made” and listening to their comments and shared stories. The store is nicely stocked and the staff right on in readiness to help each person. Students were in for classes and some had just come back from a dive at the “Mermaid House” on the pennisula, and were excitedly sharing their dive with us. I eyeballed something in the showcase and though I am not a diver, I had Paul set aside for me, it is a little pendant of two diving tanks and I want to wear it in rememberance of my two youngest scuba divers Luke 13 and Ryan 10. I am hoping that there is room to get their names engraved. So if I never do put a tank on my back (which I rarely say NEVER) I will have two tanks hanging around my neck thus a reminder of the fun they had. I shared their love and excitement about this terrific sport they grew to love at such an early age, and I loved hearing their exciting stories. I’d love to hear more of your stories about your experiences with Aquasafaris…let’s all help to keep in going and enjoy it for many years to come. Thank you! DeDe’s Mom, Linda
